Making Healthy Choices Easier. Behind the Scenes at Gleneagles: Michelle’s Story

When we talk about making healthy food more accessible, there are few places where it matters more than hospitals.
Long shifts. Unpredictable schedules. High-pressure environments.

That’s why we’re proud to see freshpod becoming part of the hospital community, including at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore where we recently spoke with Michelle Seah from the Hospital Operations team.
Michelle’s work happens largely behind the scenes, working tirelessly to keep the hospital running smoothly. Like many in hospital operations, no two days are the same, balancing projects across the hospital while navigating the unexpected challenges that come with such a complex environment.
Working in healthcare has also shaped how she thinks about nutrition.
“Working in the hospital makes me realise how many health issues are actually preventable or manageable with good lifestyle choices like nutrition. It’s a daily reminder that good health often starts with simple choices like taking better care of what I eat.”
During busy days, convenience and nutrition are key.
Michelle shared that she used to load up on carbs at lunch, only to hit the familiar afternoon food coma, not ideal when you’re sitting in meetings and need to stay sharp.
That’s why having healthier options available inside the hospital makes a difference.

With freshpod now available 24 hours a day, Michelle believes it has helped encourage people across the hospital community to think more consciously about their food choices.
