Fueling Frontline Care: Emily’s Experience with freshpod

At the National Heart Centre Singapore, Emily Leong works in the MRI department supporting cardiac imaging for patients.

Her days at Singapore General Hospital are focused, precise and fast moving. Every scan requires careful preparation, safety screening and coordination to ensure patients can safely enter the MRI environment.

Hospital work rarely runs on a fixed schedule. Lunch breaks can move, shorten, or disappear entirely.

That is why the arrival of frehspod at NHCS stood out.

“My first impression was that it looked convenient and modern. It was nice to see a healthier food option easily available within the hospital.”

For Emily, the biggest benefit is simple. When shifts are busy and unpredictable, having access to a fresh, balanced meal right inside the hospital makes a real difference.

“My lunch hour is not always fixed, so being able to get a fresh salad anytime from the machine makes it much easier to maintain a healthy lunch during busy workdays.”

Another feature she appreciates is the transparency.

Each receipt shows the ingredients along with calories, protein and fat, helping her become more aware of nutrition and supporting healthier choices.

“It is the first time I feel confident about losing weight without the urge to snack.”

When asked to describe freshpod in three words, Emily kept it simple.

Convenient

Healthy

Fresh

Stories like Emily’s remind us why this matters.

Healthcare workers spend their days looking after everyone else. Access to convenient, nutritious food should not be difficult.

This is exactly why we are bringing freshpod into hospitals, workplaces and communities. When healthy food becomes as convenient as anything else, better daily choices become easier for everyone.

And when small daily choices improve, the impact compounds over time.
